Monash Oncology Research Institute - Clinical Cancer Research

"Caring for people with cancer through clinical research"

about us back to top

The Monash Oncology Research Institute (MORI) was established in 1995 as a not-for-profit company by a dedicated group of oncologists to assist in the better management of oncological research and cancer clinical trials in the Southern Health region. The Institute was able to be set up with the assistance of a generous bequest from a grateful patient.

Based in East Bentleigh, MORI is the research arm of the Medical Oncology Unit at the Monash Cancer Centre. MORI works closely with the Victorian Cancer Council with their clinical trials. MORI is also closely associated with Cancer Trials Australia.

As set out in its constitution, MORI aims to further knowledge in the field of medical, scientific and clinical research, education and care of cancer and related diseases. Our core philosophy is to preserve, improve and develop standards, technology, services, property and facilities for the advancement of patient care, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and management of cancer and related diseases throughout the world.

MORI is able to continue its work with the generous support of Southern Health, together with research grants from the Cancer Council of Victoria, and of course the kind donations and bequests from patients, families and friends.
